Words have a profound effect upon someone or some event. A careless word can leave an imprint.
Proverbs 25:11 says a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Who doesn’t want silver and gold? Oftentimes we say a “good” thought but the ramifications can be perilous. I recently watched the movie Conversations with God based on the books by Neale Donald Walsch. A woman approached him and accused the God he served, Our Father, as being unjust, unfair and unkind. She said, how could your God be loving when he took my only adopted from me?
She continued and said she and her husband told their son he was adopted when he became older. He became withdrawn, and rebellious and could not understand why his mother would abandon him. They told him, on his 18th birthday he would see his mother. At 18, he was killed in a motorcycle accident. The author sat quietly, then with tears in his eyes, he said to her, a few years prior, her adopted son’s mother died. So you see on his 18th birthday, he did see his mother.
She spoke her son’s fate into the atmosphere, without conscious thought as to How it would come to pass.
God does not take life. Your tongue does. Death and life is in the power of your tongue. Proverbs 18:21.
Satan is a murderer, a liar and the enemy of God, who controls the prince of the power of the air. John 8:44, Ephesians 2:22.
And the last enemy to be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians 15:26
