A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Proverbs 25:11
The worlds were framed by the word of God. Hebrews 11:3
How many times have someone told you something they would do; then never did? Later, they self-justified their lack of action by saying, they had good intentions. Perhaps, I just described one of your character flaws. As a child, I was repeatedly disappointed by Words that were spoken, yet never materialized. Since scripture tells us train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 My childhood disappointments transcended into my adult life. Instead of believing the words someone said they would do, I took on the adage, “Actions speak louder than words.” Maybe this is why so many doubt the words of our Heavenly Father. Because we have equated them to our earthly fathers and mothers.
But God is not a man that he should lie. If He said it, He will do it. And if we are His children, then we too are to be like our Father, who art in Heaven. Otherwise, saying What you will do, then not do it, is a LIE. Only Satan is a liar, as well as his offspring. Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord. It does not matter what you meant to do. Words spoken from your mouth into the air is brought as an accusal by the prince of the power of the air who now worketh in the children of disobedience. Since God’s law says thou shalt not lie, you’ve just been found guilty in the courtroom of heaven and made a (negative) lasting impression on someone in the earth. Perhaps a child.
Your tongue is a weapon. It is clearly written, death and life is in the power of the tongue. Through much unlearning, I have put away childish things and resolved to being a woman of my word. After all, my Father spoke, and it came to be. Genesis chapter One. Will you join me in leaving those things behind in order to become like Our Heavenly Father?
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. And Let it Be! In Jesus Name.
