COMMAND your past to let go of you in Jesus Name!
Sounds too easy, right?
But that’s exactly what I did. Your words have the power to either create life or cause death. It is written in Proverbs 18:21. Whether or not you believe is another matter.
Here’s what happened.
An Angel of the Lord told me, “Your past is over.”
Now God’s word is truth. Yet, my circumstances did not show it, I did not feel it, and I was still constantly “on guard.”
A woman, whom the Lord had showed me, with a contrary spirit to the Way, the Truth and the Life, began sending me emails. Their tone was rebellious, and accusatory. She would also copy others whenever she sent them. Although, these emails did not internally resonant within me. I clearly was not upset. I was offended. So, I fired off responses which depicted my position.
Others were watching.
These email wars escalated to a third party who commented on their distastefulness.
I questioned, how had I allowed myself to get entangled in something so trivial, especially when I knew her spirit?
I sought God for the answer.
He reminded me of a movie I saw during my youth, and the statement that was made by one of its main characters; “All’s my life I had to fight.“- Sofia, The Color Purple.
I asked God, how then are we in Christ, to be offended, yet not defend ourselves?
Jesus calls us Sheep. When have you ever seen sheep or lambs engaged in combat?
Jesus is the Shepherd of His Sheep. Psalm 23:1, John 10:11,14
Our behavior is to mimic the nature of Sheep, which are gentle. But if pricked, they will bleed.
And whomever causes one of HIS gentle sheep to bleed, it would be better if a millstone were tied around his neck. Luke 17:2
Arise, O LORD, in your anger; rise up against the rage of my enemies. Awake, my God; decree justice. Psalm 7:6
Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord. Psalm 35:23
The LORD WILL defend you. If you will let go of your past and command your past to let go of you!
